Fraud: 5 booked travel agents: The Tribune India


Amritsar: Five travel agents have been detained for having duped a resident under the pretext of sending him abroad. The accused have been identified as Gurvir Singh, Rajwinder Kaur, Pankaj, Khokhar and Rajbir Singh, alias Jagga. They all worked at the Rustom Enterprises travel agency. Bikki Sharma, the plaintiff said that the accused deceived him by Rs 5,300,000 under the pretext of sending him abroad. The accused also duped the money of a resident of Jalandhar Jaswant Singh and Ravinder Kumar from the village of Pandori Mahatan in Gurdaspur. ASI Kapil Dev, head of the police station at the bus station, has registered a case under Articles 420 and 34 of the IPC in this regard. TNS

Suvidha camps from today

Amritsar: District level suvidha camps will be held on October 28-29. DC Gurpreet Singh Khaira said authorities were ordered to set up suvidha camps at district and tehsil level. The camp would offer services, including electricity arrears clearance, state and central government welfare schemes, licenses under LPG connection, comprehensive health insurance cards, Shagun scheme, scholarships for children, job offers and loan facilities for the unemployed, a bus pass and MGNREGA work cards. The camps would be held on October 28 at Government Polytechnic College, Chheharta Road, GSSS, Attari, Government College Ajnala, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur College, Satiala and Jandiala Guru. Likewise, on October 29, camps would be set up in Ramdas, Mardi Kalan and the village of Satiala. The benefits of the plans would be paid locally. TNS
