Jet2 announces one million free child seats available as part of latest expansion plans

Tour operator and airline Jet2 is expanding its holiday program to meet demand for overseas stays this summer and beyond. The company recently announced the extension of its Summer 22 program for the May midterm to popular holiday hotspots.

There are also a million free child places available with Jet2holidays. Meanwhile, additional flights and holidays have been confirmed to many destinations including mainland Spain, the Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands, Turkey and Portugal (Faro) from its 10 UK bases.

Summer 2023 capacity is being increased from three key airports in response to increased passenger demand with additional destinations added next summer from Birmingham, Stansted and Manchester airports. Sicily and Sardinia have been added to the program from Birmingham, with Tivat in Montenegro available from Manchester, and Athens and Rome from Stansted.

Additional aircraft will be introduced to each of the three bases to support the expansion. This means Birmingham will serve 52 destinations, including the resumption of flights to Burgas in Bulgaria, with 55 locations available from Manchester and 42 routes from Stansted.

Steve Heapy, Managing Director of and Jet2holidays, said: “The addition of more destinations and additional capacity from three bases stems from the huge demand for our award-winning flights and holidays from the airports of Birmingham, London Stansted and Manchester and as always we respond quickly. Summer 23 will see an additional aircraft enter our fleet at each of these bases.

“The addition of new destinations from Birmingham, London Stansted and Manchester airports really expands our offering. As well as ferrying customers to their preferred holiday destinations from these bases, we continue to focus on offering the best experience so that customers choose us time and time again.
